LILO’S KITCHEN… MObile Food Caterer & Taquizas

 

Lilo’s Kitchen food truck was founded in September 2020 by owners Norma and Leslie. Who is Lilo you may ask? Besides being undeniably cute, he is owner Leslie’s son. He is the real boss!

As a Latino/a family, we regularly get together and one thing that you can always count on is FOOD! Lots of it! One day, auntie Norma decided to make Birria Tacos with Consome and BOOM… that was the beginning of something great. Owner, Leslie Munoz knew we had to share this amazing dish with everyone.

We humbly started from auntie’s small kitchen and a Black and Decker grill. Thanks to our loyal customers, we quickly worked our way up in three short months to owning & operating a food truck. We started with one goal in mind: to share true authentic, homemade Latin American food with everyone, not just family.

Born in Guatemala and married to her Mexican husband for over 30 years, owner Norma is a self-taught home chef who is a genius in the kitchen. She geniously mixes the perfect amount of spices and flavor into every recipe she makes.

Bay Area native with strong Guatemalan roots, co-owner Leslie wears multiple hats: Manager, Accountant, HR, etc.

Catering / pricing

We now offer two catering options:

We conveniently bring our truck to you, park, and set up to serve you and your guests OR bring our grill to you and provide taquizas style catering! Quote prices vary but these are just to give you an idea. ASK US ABOUT OUR DESSERT OPTIONS, VEGAN OPTIONS, VEGETERIAN OPTIONS.

-BASE PRICING*-

FOOD TRUCK/TAQUERA CATERING:

  • 101 servings or more: approx. $16/person + tax and travel (depends on venue location)

  • 80-100 approx. $18/serving + tax and travel.

  • Less than 79 people minimum base charge of $1264 + tax and travel (includes 79 servings)

  • Ask us about our 40 people minimum catering option!


Please contact us for a complete menu proposal and quote. The pricing listed serves as a general guideline and varies based on seasonal demand, the distance of the venue, yearly price adjustments, late service hours, etc.

CUSTOMER FAVORITES / catering menu

These are favorites, but we can work with you to create the perfect menu! We recommend 3-4 menu items for your event. Don’t see it on the menu? Let us help you create a new menu item for your event!

BIRRIA TACOS (3 per order): shredded cheese, beef birria, corn tortilla, cilantro, onion, and lime. Served with consomé (broth) for dipping.

BEEF BIRRIA RAMEN: Beef Birria, consomé (broth), cilantro, radish, onion, and lime.

CHICKEN TACOS (3 per order) : shredded marinated chicken, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, red spicy salsa, pico de gallo, and sour cream.

catering faq

Have some questions? Don’t worry, we listed FAQ right here :)

 

How long do you serve for? Our pricing includes a service window of 2 hours ### We arrive 40 min prior to your service window. For ex, if your service time is 5-7pm, we will arrive at 4:20pm.

How long does it take to serve everyone? For parties of 100 or less, it takes on average 1 hour to serve everyone if they all show up at once. For parties of up to 200, it will take aproximately 2 hours. For parties of 250+, we will include an additional service hour for free. Each customer should receive their food hot within 5-7 minutes.

We want to taste test your food, where/how can we find you?** Follow us on Instagram and our website to find out where we are during business hours. You can also text or call us. If you can't taste test prior to your event, don't worry. There is a reason we grew from aunties humble kitchen to a food truck in less then 3 months! We have had many customers book us without even trying the food.

Do you supply plates, utensils, and napkins? A table to put them on?** Yes! We supply paper plates, utensils, and napkins.

What if we order for 100 but 110 people show up? Or vice versa?** We will have around 10% additional servings above what you booked. For example, if you booked for 100 servings, we’ll have about 10 extra servings. Any overage amount we will add to the final invoice. If you feel that people would order more and/or significantly more people will come, then we recommend ordering as close to what you’re comfortable paying for. If on the other hand less people show up, your guests may come back for seconds and/or pack them up to go. If you book for 60, but there are 100 people, we will run out food. Thus it’s best to book ahead of time with your best RSVP estimate. Can we change our headcount before the event? You may increase your headcount up to 3 days prior to your event. You may decrease your headcount no later than 2 weeks prior to your event, due to prior staff scheduling and food purchase preparations. Any additional servings we are happy to welcome your guests back for more and/or pack the food to go.

So we’re ready to book you guys, how do we secure our date?** As we receive catering inquiries on a daily basis, we do get booked by whoever is ready to pay their half payment deposit first. If you inquired about a specific date but another customer contacted us after and paid the deposit, they ultimately secured the date We’ll do our best to inform you if we receive another inquiry for your requested date, but it is difficult as we do receive multiple inquries and do not have the capacity to stay up to date with such information. We suggest you pay your deposit as soon as you’re comfortable! We accept cash, credit/debit card, personal checks or Venmo payment. Deposit must be paid with credit/debit card but we can refund you if you prefer cash on day of event.

What is your cancellation policy?** -Less than 30 days from event – no refund. We deny other catering opportunities when we confirm your event. It makes it very difficult to book less then 30 days in advance. -31-60 days from event – 50% of deposit -More then 60 days from event – 100%of deposit

For inquiries for public events/festivals where guests pay for themselves, we require a $1200 sales minimum guarantee.
(example: if we only sell $1000, your fee would be $200).
